Mobile Telecoms Engineer (Nokia Projects)

Work location: Global House Huntingdon remote working can be discussed.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Project Manager, the role holder will be technically competent in their area of Nokia RAN integration and network monitoring.

This will include, but is not limited to; configuration, integration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and data quality checks on UK Nokia network (2G, 3G, 4G and 5G).

The role may involve lone working or collaboration as part of a team, either remotely or on customer premises. There may also be a requirement for out of hours work to support activities on the live network.

Key Responsibilities

* Configuration & Integration of Nokia 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G nodes.

* Managing RAN migration activities to support new transmission backhaul solutions.

* Audit network configuration against customer baseline.

* Correction of parameters to align to design specifications.

* Regular progress reporting to Project Manager

Operational Experience

Essential

* Thorough understanding of IPV4 subnetting, routing and routed protocols.

* Thorough understanding of 2G/3G/4G/5G network architecture and connectivity

* Sound expertise in MHA/RET configuration for legacy and SRAN sites.

* Experience of troubleshooting and maintenance on multi-customer, multi-technology networks

* Experience of commissioning, integration, migrating and upgrading Nokia RAN products using NetAct CM tools.

* Experience of Nokia BTS managers for troubleshooting and commissioning.

* Experience of working with Field teams during Integration and troubleshooting.

* Auditing, configuration plan creation and execution using CM Editor & CM Operations Manager.

* DX200 and IPA2800 experience (BSC and RNC MML).

Desirable

* 3+ years of LTE RAN Integration and technical support experience.

* Thorough knowledge of Nokia NetAct environment & tools

* Experience with creation of scripts for the integration and upgrading of Nokia RAN products.

* Prior experience performing integrations on UK network.

* Experience with scheduling and managing integration and troubleshooting activities.

* Experience of working as a Nokia RAN BO Engineer

* Strong technical writing skills.

Personal Attributes

Fluent English speaker.

3 to 5 years experience in a comparable role.

Telecoms based HNC type qualification.

Sound methodical skills with attention to detail.

Capability to multi-task and prioritise activities to ensure timely deliveries.

Comfortable in working with multiple stakeholders in a multi-cultural environment of a global matrix organization with and attitude of sensitivity and collaboration.
