Job Title: Building Maintenance Technician
Location: Crawley & Uckfield

Nyetimber is a luxury brand and multiple award winning English sparkling wine producer. We are now seeking to expand our Facilities Team at the Winery.Working closely alongside the Estate & Facilities Officer and Senior Building Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of The Winery (Crawley) & Ashdown Park (Uckfield), ensuring the building and its associated facilities are compliant and in excellent working order. You will be based out of the Winery in Crawley and will travel to Ashdown Park in Uckfield regularly. You will also be asked to travel to other Nyetimber sites to support the wider team with general Estate maintenance on an ad-hoc basis.

Key Responsibilities as a Building Maintenance Technician:
Building Maintenance
* Day to day responsibility for the execution of all planned preventative maintenance for the Winery & Ashdown Park, including the production and storage areas and facilities within it.
* You will be working closely alongside the Senior Building Engineer to ensure the new digital facilities management program is updated accordingly. Ensuring all assets are serviced and maintained to a high standard in both locations.
* You will conduct various daily/weekly/monthly inspection checklists to ensure that both buildings BMS, Co2 systems, plant room equipment & all other equipment are in satisfactory working order.
* You will conduct weekly internal and external building inspections for the Winery and Ashdown Park, reporting any issues via the maintenance software.
* You will conduct all basic property maintenance tasks both inside and outside the Winery and Ashdown Park whenever possible, before looking for a contractor.
Managing Contractors
* Occasionally, in the absence of the Senior Building Engineer, you will be required to oversee w o r k undertaken by external contractors. Ensuring High standards and safety procedures are followed.
* You will ensure required servicing and maintenance contractors are provided with access to areas they require and ensure that they have carried out the necessary work to the required standard.
Security
-You will become a backup key holder for Crawley and Primary keyholder for the Uckfield sites, providing out- of-hours access to contractors if required (for which you will be paid overtime).
-You will help with the security on-site including ensuring the CCTV, intruder alarms, intercoms & access control are in working order. Reporting any breaches of security via MaintainX.
-You will be on the contact list via telephone for any out of hours alarm activation at the Winery and Ashdown Park.
Health & Safety
* You will carry out all statutory health and safety compliance checks including fire alarm testing, ladder checks, fire escape and building, roof inspections etc.
* You will check with the Estate and Facilities Officer that all external contractors have gone through the internal approval process, and you will ensure that they supply their RAMs before working on-site.
* Ensure all relevant health and safety procedures are followed from a Facilities/Building Management perspective.
* Report any unsafe behavior or breaches of health and safety to the Senior Building Engineer or the Estates and Facilities Officer.
* General
* You will meet with the Senior Building Engineer & the Estates and Facilities Officer on a weekly basis to report on all activities that have taken place during the week.
* You will support the Senior Winemaker and the Senior Building Engineer with all Winery related tasks.
* Ensure the Winery is presentable and maintained to the highest standards internally and externally.
* You will contribute to a positive culture within the team as well as throughout the business.
Key Skills. Knowledge & Attributes
* Essential: Ability to work unsupervised and in isolation to deliver towards team objectives

* Desirable: Outstanding organisational, planning and reporting skills
* Essential: Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently Demonstrable knowledge of maintenance operations
* Desirable: Confident using emails, technology and computers for reporting and property. maintenance purposes.
Experience required:
Essential: Min 3 years of previous building maintenance experience
Essential: Experience of statutory health and safety compliance
Desirable: Experience of working within an industrial or production style environment
Desirable: Experience of using hand power tools and ground machinery
Essential: clean full UK driving license, access to a car and happy to travel between the sites.
Hours are generally 8am-4.30pm Mon-Thurs and 8am 3.30pm on a Friday.
