Job Title: Machine Setter/Operator - Wickman
THIS ROLE WOULD BE IDEALLY SUITED TO SOMEONE WHO HAS TRAINED AS A CENTRE LATHE TURNER or has a mechanical background and could be potentially trained quickly on Wickmans machines.
This is a full time, permanent job.

LOCATION: Stockport
WORK PATTERN: 4 DAYS Mon-Thurs 7.15am to 5.15pm
PAY RATE: £17.00/£32,723 per annum.
HOLIDAYS: 5 weeks (20 days) + Stats

Position Overview
Seeking a time-served Setter/Operator
Due to the nature of the work, applicants should be educated to a recognised mechanical qualification minimum ONC or equivalent and have 4 years + experience
Duties and Responsibilities
* Read set up layouts and placing tooling in the correct positions
* Grinding taps/dies and tooling using fixtures
* Measure components to an engineering drawing
Fault finding on machine when components drift out of tolerance
Ensure machines are topped up with bar and oil plus complete appropriate SPC/control sheets
* Ensure good housekeeping examples are being set and maintained
Follow Health and Safety Regulations at all times
* Making sure any process or specific changes are identified on the specification sheets;
Working to and ensuring the standards of the quality procedures are reached Able to work to drawings & specifications with minimum supervision
* Conduct other duties when required to promote business growth
Skills and Experience
* 4 years + experience of working in Machine Shop or Fabrication environment
Mathematics and IT skills.
* Ability to prioritise;
* Good manual dexterity;
Calm under pressure;
* Frequently lift and/or move 1Oft lengths of bar
* Working to engineering drawings
* Good attention to detail and work well to process adherence
* Able to work well on your own or within a team environment
Demonstrate ability to work on own initiative and understand company & manufacturing processes
* Educated to a recognised mechanical qualification minimum ONC or equivalent
