Protocol Education is currently seeking applicants who are seeking a career working with children in an Education setting as a Learning Support Assistant. You will play a cruical role in supporting young children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH), with their early stages of learning and development.
We work with a number of schools who have constant demand for additional staff, with both short-term and long-term placements available. We have some have positions starting from Easter half-term, with the potential to go on until the end of the academic year (July 2024). There is also the opportunity to go permanent with the school you are placed in, this however depending on what the school is looking for.
In this highly rewarding role, you will be supporting vulnerable children with SEND and SEMH needs, such as ADHD, Autism, Anxiety/Depression/complex learning disabilities, or being identified as having a statement of an educational need or an Educational, health and care plan (EHCP). The impact of COVID-19 on young children's mental health has significantly increased, resulting in a higher demand for support across schools in the UK to help with catch-up.
This role is perfect for applicants with backgrounds in Care or Psychology for example, who are seeking a position working in the likes of Child Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or to be a Educational Psychologist.
Key requirements:
Working Monday-Friday (term-time only)
Hours of between typically 8:30am-3:30pm
Have excellent communication skills
Have a passion for supporting children
Have an understanding of SEND and SEMH needs
