SEND Teaching Assistant
Children's Support Worker

£70-90 p/d

Simply Education is currently seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to work in a special school in the King's Lynn area, the role will involve supporting children with mental health challenges. The school is rated outstanding by OFSTED. Simply can offer specialised training for people who have not worked in a school before but have skills from elsewhere that can be transferred into an educational setting.

The school are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join the team ready for the September start, ideally, the school would like the successful applicant to start before the end of the summer term to get them integrated and become a functional part of the team ready for September.

What does your new role entail:

Assist the classroom teacher in delivering lessons and supporting pupils with SEN in the classroom
Work with small groups or individual pupils, providing additional support and assistance as required
Help to create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment for pupils with SEN
Attend meetings with parents and other professionals as required to discuss pupils' progress and support needs
Undertake any other duties as required to support the smooth running of the school
Monitor and track pupil progress, and provide regular feedback to the class teacher and other professionals
Support pupils to achieve their full potential, both academically and socially, in a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Skills and Qualifications required:

A degree in Psychology or similar
Passion for working with children and a desire to make a positive impact on their lives
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents
Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from the classroom teacher
Experience working with children would be advantageous, but not essential
A commitment to ongoing professional development and learning

All candidates who register with Simply Education will have 2 years referencing taken up and will be required to have an enhanced DBS check completed. All offers are conditional upon satisfactory background checks.
