Fantastic mechanical engineering opportunity working for a world renowned rolling stock manufacturer, on their new project based at their Longsight depot in Manchester. All relevant mechanical engineering experience considered.
Please note this job will require successful candidates to work days for the first 12 weeks and then following this both days and nights on a two week rolling shift. In line with this shift change, contractors will receive a pay rise, rates specified below.

Position Summary
This position will be completing heavy mechanical modifications of Rolling Stock EMU Class 390. You will be expected to complete tasks from written work instruction, including Mechanical strips and refits on components. You will also specifically work on modifications of Heavy Diesel engines. This is a Safety Critical position and is a requirement against the Service Agreement (SA). The position is based on a busy maintenance depot and all applicants would be expected to complete the following:
* Bogie exchanges
* Permanent and Auto couplers exchanges
* Drive shaft repair and/or exchanges
* Axle changes
* Traction motors
* Power pack drop (Engine)
* Compressors
* Mechanical Mods
Qualifications:
NVQ 3 or City & Guilds Level 3 qualification in a Mechanical discipline is a requirement.
