Lead Mechanical Engineer - Critical Systems

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented Electrical Engineer to join the Critical Systems team in our Newcastle office and to play a leading role in ensuring the successful delivery of innovative mechanical design solutions for some of the most exciting and high-profile projects in the Data centre and Critical Systems fields. As part of our established team of expert engineers, and working closely with colleagues of various disciplines, you will prepare both scheme and detailed engineering designs for major data centre and other critical systems projects. You will lead a team of engineers and work closely with colleagues of various disciplines to manager the delivery of technically excellent, profitable projects. You will ideally be Chartered for this position.

The Skills

Educated to degree level in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (MEng or BEng or equivalent), and having gained experience in a Mechanical Engineering role within a data centre/critical system and building services context, you are already well versed in relevant design software including Dilux and amtech. You have proven ability in producing low energy, creative design solutions, preparing specifications and project reports, carrying out site inspections and surveys, and detail design development and crucially you have a passion for creative and intuitive design. Given the collaborative and client focussed nature of this role, excellent communication skills and experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges are essential
