Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students with a range of SEN requirements. They will work collaboratively with other teachers, support staff, and external professionals to create personalized learning plans that address the unique challenges and strengths of each student.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with SEN, including but not limited to autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and physical disabilities.
* Adapt teaching strategies and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
* Utilize a variety of assessment methods to monitor student progress and inform instructional planning.
* Collaborate with SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other staff members to develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.
* Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents/carers and relevant stakeholders.
* Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
* Stay informed about current best practices and research in SEN education, and participate in professional development opportunities as required.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK, with experience teaching students with SEN preferred.
* Strong understanding of different SEN conditions and strategies for supporting students with diverse needs.
* Ability to differentiate instruction and modify curriculum content to meet individual learning goals.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents/carers, and external agencies.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to promoting the holistic development of every student.
* Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the evolving needs of students and the school community.
