Job Title: Buyer

Thorn Baker are working with a popular house builder based in Derby who are looking for a Buyer as a result of growth and an increase in demand.

What we can offer you:

Salary up to £45k

Responsibilities:

Cost all Materials set out in the planning stage
Source possible vendors and new goods, obtaib quotes from a variety of suppliers and subcontractors to find the best quality materials & services at the best price
When a contract has been secured, negotiate the most favourable terms with suppliers
Ensure that products and services comply with the requirements for safety, health, and the environment
Coordinate closely with the estimator during the tendering process
Create and maintain meticulous cost reports to increase organisational efficiency
What we are looking for:

Experience within housing sector
Experience working on apartment projects ideally
IT literate, experienced with Microsoft Office
Strong negotiator
Strong listening and communication skills.
Self-motivated, comfortable working on your own and as part of a team.
