Summary:
At Bis Henderson, we are looking for a Business Development Manager to join a leading name in nationwide transport and supply chain solutions. The Business Development Manager will be working primarily towards improving our client's volume and productivity in the North-East. They will be responsible for maintaining good communication with their current customer base while at the same time looking to increase volume and look for new opportunities. Beyond this, there will also be a requirement to oversee and communicate with the depots ensuring that service levels and any customer enquiries, issues or queries are dealt with efficiently and appropriately. The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial acumen and a proven track record of sales development and relationship management within the domestic haulage sector.
Key Responsibilities:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for maintaining good communication with their current customer base while at the same time looking to increase volume and look for new opportunities.
They will need to be able to negotiate on both contracts and rates and will have a strong understanding of related costs and P&L. They will also need to maintain a handle on current market influences with a strong commercial acumen.
There will be a requirement to oversee and communicate with the depots ensuring that service levels and any customer enquiries, issues or queries are dealt with efficiently and appropriately.
Reporting directing into the Board of Directors, the successful candidate will be expected to plan and arrange their own schedule and work well using their own initiative.
Proactively assess and validate the client's needs on an ongoing basis, deliver continuous improvement plan and value-added solutions.
Experience:
Experience in a similar role within domestic haulage would be an advantage.
Successful track record as a 'hunter' of new prospects, identifying new growth opportunities.
A self-starter with a proven-track record of sales development and relationship management.
Experienced in dealing with Senior Management, key stakeholders, and client's up to and including Board level.
Ability to prioritize, organise and manage time efficiently is essential.Processing Your Data
