This is a fun thing for not very much money! It is a rally prepared 1971 Mercedes-Benz 350SL, RHD, Manual Gearbox, Finished in Dark Blue Metallic with Black Interior, She has completed the Paris Peking Rally and is ready for its next adventures!

Although larger than their predecessors, the 350 SL roadster and 350 SLC coupé retained the overall look of the long-running and much admired 230/250/280SL family, and were the first of the Mercedes-Benz sports car line to use a V8 engine, the latter's 200bhp more than offsetting the increase in bulk. All-independent suspension similar to that of the New Generation 200/250 models ensured superb ride and handling, while four-wheel disc brakes (ventilated at the front) helped restrain the 210km/h performance. Luxuriously equipped in the finest Mercedes-Benz tradition, the 350 SL and SLC were more sports-tourers than outright sports cars, a fact that did nothing whatsoever to harm sales that totalled in excess of 29,000 units between 1971 and 1980.

The dusty expanse of the Gobi desert, the great open Siberian steppe, the plains of eastern Europe, this car has seen them all. In 2016 it set off from the Great Wall of China with numbers on its doors and the steely look of determination in the eyes of its crew. Their destination: Paris. The car is presented still with some of the battle scars it picked up during this epic rally: a few scuffs and scrapes but seemingly nothing major. It retains its half roll-cage and Monit rally trip meter, ready to be pressed into use at a moment’s notice. This is a grreat looking bit of kit so whether you need a car for an enduance rally or just negotiating the Kings Road in Chelsea, this car will do it! A very Rare Manual car with an appaently low mileage, she doenst come with any history, unfortunately, but at this price, I am not sure it matters! With the recent Porsche 911 Dakar special, these Rally cars are getting a bit of a following!
