Despite its age and mileage, this is still a lovely car to drive. Its big, comfortable, luxurious and reassuring. The boot is huge, especially with the seats down. I would prefer to keep it but an unexpected change in circumstances means we need to get a smaller car.

Work carried out this year:
Cambelt and water pump replaced
Alternator belt replaced
One glow plug replaced (EML was on)
Engine flushed and oil and filter changed
Window regulator in the drivers door replaced
New 110Ah Varta battery fitted and coded
New o/s foglight grille fitted

Bad points:
Rear screen wiper not working
With the MMI, pushing the ‘Nav’ button more often than not activates the ‘Info’ mode instead.
When cold, the clutch take up is a bit juddery, depending on how much throttle it’s given, but this seems to improve once warmed up for some reason
Warning light on the display for a malfunctioning N/S reversing lamp bulb

Please note, this is NOT an immaculate showroom-type car like many A6s. The bodywork has dings and dents. The interior shows signs of what the previous owner described as ‘active kids’, or something. The sunvisors are missing clips, but stay in place OK.

I’m very sorry to see this car go.
