Does your experience of working with stakeholders of varying levels of digital literacy include supporting delivery against project milestones, using metrics, working against organisational strategic objectives and keeping within scope? Then join Shelter as a Digital Project Coordinator and you could soon be playing a vital role by helping to develop products and services to support our housing advice services.
A home is a fundamental human need, as essential as education or healthcare. Yet millions of people across Britain struggle on a daily basis with homelessness, bad housing conditions, soaring rents, discrimination and the threat of eviction. So, we are striving for change - with individuals, in communities, across society - and leading the way to a safe home. We need ambitious, best-in-class individuals who are passionate about our cause to join us at this exciting time. This is your chance to play a part in the fundamental change we are striving to achieve.
Shelter's digital team plays a key role within the charity by producing exciting service design work that affects our advice services, campaigns and fundraising. Very much digital and creative leaders, they collaborate across the organisation to deliver first-class design, content, products and services in an agile, iterative and data-driven manner. Disciplines in the team include front-end and back end development, UX/UI, content production, QA, analytics and more. Collectively, they set the example for Shelter in digital best practice, discovery and innovation. And, they want you on board.
About the Role
An important member of Shelter's central digital team, you'll work alongside sister teams of specialists in marketing and creative roles, as well as more broadly with stakeholders within IT and Services. A great opportunity to join a thriving multidisciplinary Scrum team, we'll rely on you to coordinate communication and collaboration between partners across the organisation, as well as with third-party suppliers. You'll also be responsible for supporting the planning, reporting and development of project plans that aligns with overall product visions and external commitments. Along the way, you'll get to build strong relationships with stakeholders throughout Shelter as you ensure all product and project elements are successfully achieved against project plans. And, when it comes to looking for opportunities to create value by transferring knowledge and sharing skills and insights with the wider organisation, again, we'll count on you to deliver.
About you
You'll need a good understanding of how user-focussed digital services can improve people's lives, plus a real desire to help people struggling with bad housing or homelessness. You'll also need experience of delivering with cross-functional teams and/or collaborating with experts from other teams and bringing together different digital specialists and enabling them to work together effectively to a common aim. The ability to effectively communicate the principles of good digital practice and technical details of web development with technical and non-technical audiences is important too, and, if you've worked within the not for profit sector, either as part of an in-house team or as a supplier, even better, although this is not essential. What is for certain though is that you're proactive, creative, commercially aware and great at collaborating on a range of digital projects.
