On behalf of our client, an award winning engineering manufacturer, we are recruiting for an experienced and dynamic Finance Manager/Controller to join their management team.
Based at their head office in Saddleworth key responsibilities of the Job Role include;
* Managing all finance and accounting operations.
* Managing a team of 2 people.
* Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial management accounts
* Managing the month-end and year-end close process.
* Working closely with production/operations to ensure accurate flow of financial data.
* Report back to local management and Group management on a monthly basis.
* Liaising with the auditors and managing the audit process.
* Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts.
* Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
* Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
* Monitor cash flow.
* Develop and improve document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
* Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns.
* Preparation and submission of monthly payroll and pension.
* Ad hoc HR duties.
To be considered for this opportunity the successful candidate will have the following requirements and Skills:
* Preferably ACCA or CIMA qualified.
* Proven working experience (min 5 years) within a manufacturing environment as a Finance Manager/Controller, or something similar.
* Knowledge of Aptean Unity (or similar) ERP software which integrates and manages manufacturing and financial systems would be advantageous.
* Sage payroll experience.
* Experience of Job Costings and Bills of Materials
* Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
* Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
* Must be proficient with Excel.
* Flexible work ethic.
