Electrical Design Engineer - Various positions

* Position - Primary Design Engineer/P&C Design Engineer/Project Engineer

* Location - Lancashire (hybrid working)

* Responsible to - Infrastructure and Energy Design Manager

We are committed to providing value added power engineering services to private network owners, Embedded Generation investors & Carbon reducing organisations. Through innovative Design, installation, commissioning and maintenance we have a significant pipeline of projects including major private infrastructure network developments , microgrid solutions, Gas/Hydrogen based generation and Grid support through Battery storage schemes.

We are a commercial organisation who generate leads and prospects from multiple clients including DNOs for work either owned and operated by a DNO or Private Commercial, NHS, Airports and large manufacturing customers operating in a commercial environment.

The role:

To enable us to fully deliver these projects we are looking for innovative Design Engineers with experience of Client side HV & EHV projects from initial concept and feasibility through to procurement specification, construction phase design and Commissioning for Infrastructure & Energy projects on customer networks up to and including 132kV. To manage, and oversee, all aspects of design (from outline to detail) during the project life including, but not limited to, design, planning, approval, construction, commissioning, and final handover.

The knowledge required:

Ideally, we are looking to recruit candidates who has specialist knowledge in either one or more of the following areas:

* Transmission level Electrical Plant Design (HV Vacuum Switchgear , Power Transformers up to 132kV ,

* EHV Indoor and Outdoor Switchgear open busbar or GIS

* Protection and Control scheme design and integration.

* Grid and primary level substation layout design,

* Earthing Design,

* SCADA integration,

* Network protection and Modelling of networks including G99 submissions.

* To act as the key Designer for all major projects, managing and overseeing all aspects of design (from outline to detail) during the project life cycle design, planning, approval, construction, commissioning and final handover.

* Working closely with the Project Manager, Protection & Control Engineers (and Construction Engineers) and Design Manager to ensure that all HV & EHV projects achieve the programme objectives of time, cost and quality, at each key milestone stage, to meet requirements of the agreed programme. Outputs reported from the programme form Key Performance Indicators to the Companys regulators.

* To ensure business processes and systems are aligned to obtain maximum performance, and that all projects / are managed on appropriate Company systems.

* Must establish and maintain a flexible and adaptable approach to change, being able to respond rapidly and develop creative solutions.

* Provide a Technical expert service to the tendering and Bid process of the business and the project delivery team.
