Job Description - Heavy Electrical
Responsibility
- Reporting any near miss of potentially hazardous activity within the team to senior management.
- Informing the operations manager when the work-to list or task is completed and no further jobs are scheduled.
- Completing essential functions and duties to produce product of excellent quality in accordance to site processes and procedures.
Essential duties
This list of duties is not exhaustive. The jobholder may be required to undertake other duties from time to time in order to support other areas of the business.
- Assemble amplifiers in accordance with design specifications
- Assemble connection cables in accordance with design specifications
- Assemble cooling units in accordance with design specifications, which includes elements of plumbing.
- Play an active role of the team, supporting requirements in both safety and quality (Such as SHEQ audits).
- Assist in training and upskilling of others to raise the team capability.
- Participate in job improvement programmes and projects as required
- Operate in a lean and 5S manner, supporting the site strategy.
Qualifications / Experience
- Minimum C level in GCSE Mathematics and English or equivalent is (Essential).
- Apprenticeship or city & guilds/NVQ level 2 or equivalent (Essential).
- Proven experience as a wire person for high voltage(3 phase) / high current assemblies working to mechanical and electrical schematics (Essential).
- Proven experience of brazing and soldering.
- NVQ level 2 qualification in business' improvement techniques and/or practical experience of using lean techniques.
- Able to read and understand technical drawings and documentation.
- Certified in the use of mechanical lifting devices, such as a crane.
- Able to use Microsoft office, as well as a basic understanding of ERP/MRP systems.
- Experience of mechanical or electromechanical assembly in a factory environment, including practical experience.
- Able to use continuity checking instruments.
- Experience of working to quality and environmental standards (e.g. (phone number removed).
Technical Competencies
- Assembling cables and cable-sets
- Assembling SPAK amplifiers and sub-assemblies (Electrical and Mechanical).
- Assembling HPAK amplifiers and sub-assemblies (Electrical and Mechanical).
- Assembling DPAK amplifiers and CUFPS cooling units (Electrical, Mechanical and plumbing).

- Excellent spoken and written English with proven and effective communication skills.
- Ability to work constructively within a team as well as be pro-active in assembly builds.
- Ability to diligently and methodically focus on tasks with a clear sense of urgency

Fixed Term Contract (3 months)
Salary between £14-£15/hr
