About Us: True North Talent is a recruitment company, dedicated to connecting exceptional talent with outstanding opportunities. Our highly regarded FMCG Manufacturing client based in Greater Manchester is seeking to recruit a talented HSE Manager to devise and deliver their HSE Strategy.
Role Overview: This is key role on the Site Senior Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Operations Director. Your role will be to drive the businesses Health, Safety and Environmental performance. Working to ensure that the team, workplace, environment, general public, visitors, and contractors on site are safe. A key part of your role will be to drive a culture of behavioural safety, as well as providing specialist advice through training and coaching.
Key Responsibilities:
* Foster a workplace safety culture and environment where Health& Safety controls, activities and focus are paramount, and everyone thinks safety comes first
* Providing regular proactive communications to key stakeholders on SHE best practice and initiatives including changes in legislation at all levels
* Ensure effective visual management tools are used across site
* Set KPIs, report and display KPIs in a timely manner
* Manage the reporting of investigations and address any hazards/accidents/ near misses with prompt action to mitigate any further risks to personnel and property
* Developing and delivering a site SHE improvement plan aligned with the corporate strategy.
* Providing support to sites on achieving customers sustainability targets
Qualifications and Experience:
Previous experience in a Health Safety role in a fast paced manufacturing environment
Ideally a NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) in Occupational Health & Safety
Demonstrate an ability to engage at all level and build a strong safety culture
Experience leading internal audits and liaising with external regulatory bodies
Ability to analyse complex problems to identify multiple root causes
Ability to work to independently and be part of a multi-functional team who deliver results through driving continuous improvement as part of their day to day working environment
Communicate with stakeholders across all functions, at all levels of the business and within the local community
