Warehouse Team Leader - Manchester
This role is a permanent position, working a rotational shift pattern covering the hours of 8:30am 5:30pm and 12pm to 9pm, totalling 45 hours per week
What are the main duties of this role?
Manage the full range of duties covering the branch Warehouse and Logistics operations, completing, and supervising the daily work plan, to ensure that all required delivery and service objectives are achieved to meet Company and Customer order demands.
Manage the Goods Inwards function. From organisation of unloading, inspection of all inbound goods, returned product, ensuring that goods are located in correct picking / storage locations, processing the documentation accurately and timely.
Manage the warehouse, adhering to Company stock management systems, ensuring stock is accurate, located correctly, safely and movements recorded.
Manage and organise daily picking requirements to meet customer demands, supervising picking and checking process for accuracy to ensure customer orders are fulfilled on time in full.
Ensure delivery vehicles are loaded safely, secured meeting industry standards and guidelines.
Lead and drive customer focused business improvements throughout the warehouse.
Resource planning to maximise efficiency and ensure operational success.
Housekeeping, ensuring that all areas are always kept clean and clear.
Daily liaison with Branch Network, Commercial and Supply Chain to monitor and improve processes.
Full adherence to health and safety policy and procedures, including safety assessments as required.
Where applicable take responsibility for building security to include dealing with issues arising outside of office hours and the locking and unlocking of the premises, the management of health and safety and building access and egress.
Ensuring adherence to Company procedures, development of improvement ideas to support a culture of continuous improvement and utilisation of lean management principles.
What we are looking for:
Experience in leading a team in a warehousing and logistics environment.
Experience in a distribution environment, to include picking/packing, rotation of stock, structuring of workloads.
Knowledge of manual handling practice and the packing of materials safely to agreed procedures.
Ability to operate computer-based stock management systems including Windows based software
Ability to retain knowledge of an extensive product range.
Ability to co-ordinate, motivate and lead resources to deliver the required performance level and desired outcome. To include delivery of briefings, performance reviews, use of performance management systems such as attendance management and coaching procedures.
Experience of administration and clerical work processing data and managing paperwork accurately
Ability to be able to interpret numerical information regarding the calculation of load/delivery weights and stock levels
Team Leader Certificate NEBS/NVQ
Current UK driving licence (HGV/CPC would be an advantage)
Forklift truck certificates (relevant to the required work areas training will be considered)
