The School and Role
Excellent opportunity with a clear career pathway available for staff who wish to develop their experience and eventually become teaching assistants or take on a fuller role (not mandatory). This post involves working across 5 lunchtimes, 2-3 hours per day, 10-15 hours weekly between 11am and 2pm with opportunity for roles to become permanent and extended.
You will be a member of the team responsible for supporting young people during a period where other staff may be relieved for lunch breaks, whilst young people are having their lunch or taking part in educational and enrichment activities across the lunchtime period.
Experience in a similar role is not imperative. Reliability, personal characteristics, interpersonal skills, good communication skills, team work and ethic are however all vital. Both this school and our agency will support you with information and training required to perform the role effectively.
Please note that this role will involve working with young people with a variety of special educational needs and disabilities. An open mind, calm and positive attitude are a must. This vacancy offers a brilliant chance to dip your toe into the sector and experience life within SEND around other commitments, pick ups, drop offs or another role.
Requirements
The desired SEND Lunchtime Support will have;
Ideally some experience of working with young people, children or vulnerable adults or desire to progress career in this area
Experience of working with pupils with SEND ideal but not essential
Reliability, good communication skills, team work skills and commitment
A positive, proactive attitude, adaptability and an open mind
