About Llys Ystrad
Help to Buy Wales is available at Llys Ystrad, meaning you could buy a home with a minimum deposit of 5%.
Llys Ystrad is our new collection of two, three and four-bedroom homes in the popular town of Bridgend. Our modern home styles are perfect for first-time buyers through to families needing more room.
Situated between Cardiff and Swansea, the town of Bridgend has a lovely historic atmosphere, great local amenities, plenty of shopping opportunities and a wonderful choice of outdoor and indoor pursuits.
The towns along the M4 corridor all benefit from the straightforward route across South Wales that the motorway provides. Our development at Llys Ystrad is close to Junction 36. If you prefer to travel by train, services from Bridgend to Cardiff take just over 20 minutes, and to Swansea they take just over half an hour.
You'll be well placed for the coast from a new home here too. Porthcawl and Ogmore-by-Sea are popular local destinations for a day on the beach or a spot of surfing.
Leisure
For those who enjoy an active lifestyle, it's easy to get out and about to explore the beautiful countryside. You can be hiking in the Brecon Beacons National Park in about an hour. There are also fantastic golf courses to enjoy. The 18 hole Royal Porthcawl Golf Course overlooks the coast, while the Pyle & Kenfig golf club combines glorious views with its challenging course. The town also provides regular entertainment throughout the year with festivals and theatrical productions.
Education
There are plenty of schools to choose from in the area, from infant schools through to comprehensive schools. You will also have the option to choose from the Welsh-Medium and Church schools within the catchment area.
Shopping
Bridgend has a market town atmosphere, and the main pedestrianised shopping area offers a wide selection of shops. There's also a good choice of supermarkets nearby, including Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury.
The McArthurGlen shopping outlet is nearby, it's the largest of its kind in the country. The Princess of Wales hospital is less than a mile away from the development and there are gp's surgeries and dentists throughout the town.
Transport
Bridgend is served by the M4 motorway - the main link all the way from London to Swansea, via the Severn Bridge. The A470 and the A465 are the main road routes inland from the motorway junctions at Cardiff and Swansea. The closest train station to the development is in Bridgend's town centre, which is approximately 2.5 miles away from Castle Heights. You can be in Cardiff in 22 minutes and Swansea in 34 minutes by train.
