We are searching for a highly skilled and motivated Multi Skilled Engineer to join our client in their Engineering team based in Westbury.
Job Title: Multi Skilled Engineer
Location: Westbury
Salary: £(phone number removed) + £3250 call out premium - A competitive benefits package that includes 31 days of holiday, pension contribution, life insurance, and various lifestyle benefits, including wellbeing resources.
Shifts: Week 1: Monday to Friday - 07.00 to 15.00
Week 2: Monday to Friday - 07.00 to 15.00 plus Saturday Morning during this week you will be on call from 11pm to 7am Sunday, 3pm to 7am Monday to Thursday and 3pm till 11pm Friday, if you are called out to site you will be paid an additional amount for any hours worked at time +1/2 plus travel.
About the Role:
As a Multi Skilled Engineer, your mission is to optimise machinery output, elevate product quality, and minimise plant downtime. You'll achieve this through effective preventative maintenance and swift responses, all while upholding a safe and healthy environment and championing engineering best practices.
A Glimpse into Your Responsibilities:
· Collaborate in the creation of a cutting-edge PPM system, ensuring professional and timely planned maintenance.
· Execute engineering maintenance in alignment with the current schedule, swiftly implementing effective corrective actions.
Rapidly and effectively respond to breakdowns, identifying root causes and proposing preventative measures.
· Communicate unscheduled breakdowns to the Shift Supervisor/Mill Manager, working closely with operations to minimize disruptions.
· Maintain meticulous records of lost time, breakdown causes, and required parts.
· Uphold high engineering standards and hygiene practices.
· Ensure all activities adhere to company and legislative health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
· Assist with PUWER, LOLER, Risk Assessments, and related tasks.
· Ensure compliance through routine weigher and Liquid meter calibrations.
· Understand and manage fire suppression systems.
· Follow established escalation routes for unscheduled plant downtime and minimize it through sound engineering practices.
· Initiate spares stock and non-stock request forms/emails.
Qualifications for Success:
You will have completed an advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering and hold relevant engineering recognised qualifications along with commercial engineering experience. You will have a comprehensive understanding of Mechanical processes and assemblies along with Electrical or Welding/Fabrication experience.
You will work well in a team and also have strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to thrive working within a deadline driven environment.
