The school
This warm and nurturing independent special school in Surrey has an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant. This small school provides tailored education based around therapeutic interventions. All pupils have a primary diagnosis of Autism, and most have an additional secondary diagnosis.
Therapy is at the heart of the schools day-to-day activities and is supported by a range of on-site professionals. This wealth of expertise ensures excellent outcomes for the pupils and wide ranging CPD opportunities for the staff.
This school boasts a variety of facilities to enhance the physical and emotional well-being of its pupils. All staff are involved in the continual review of childrens progress and next steps, ensuring the curriculum is developed on a child-centred basis. Pupils have a genuine love for their school, which allows them to succeed where they may not have done so in mainstream settings. The school's unique approach successfully prepares pupils for adult life, where they contribute positively to society.
Staff are extremely highly valued at this school. A friendly and supportive environment allows staff to continually develop their skills and take risks outside of their comfort zone, should they wish to do so. This is reinforced by the schools genuine desire for staff to have the career they love. As a result, staff are fulfilled and motivated, going about their day-to-day activities with a solution-focused attitude. If you want to work in an environment where staff are given autonomy and look forward to coming to work every day, this is the school for you!
