Freya cottage
Freya Cottage was constructed in 2007. The house and garden grounds are 0.42 acres in total. The water supply is mains provided by Scottish Water. The properties are located in a crofting township of 34 croft properties. Freya Cottage and Single Malt are located on Croft 33 and are surrounded by croft land. There is a range of local amenities and facilities which can be found within Portree, located approximately 26 miles south east.
Geary is a peaceful hamlet situated on the Waternish peninsula. Both properties have unrestricted panoramic sea views of Loch Snizort, Trotternish Ridge and the ferry port of Uig.
In the summer, pod’s of Dolphins, Minke Whales and the majestic Sea Eagles can be viewed from Freya Cottage and the annex Single Malt Cottage. The area is renowned for Bortle Grade – 2 night sky : Aurora Borealis and the Milky Way can be viewed from each property.
The location has direct access to numerous walks and mountain bike routes. A sandy beach is located at the serene Loch Losait, an ideal spot for bird or otter watching and is just a short distance away. It is worth noting that the location for both properties has been fully decrofted.
The Stein Inn dates back to the 18th Century and offers meals and a variety of local beverages. The Michelin – starred Loch Bay Restaurant owned by the renowned chef Michael Smith is also located at Stein. Boat trips for wildlife spotting, fishing, diving or visiting St Kilda also depart from Stein which is a 10 minute drive or a 5 mile walk from both properties.
