Our client are a world renowned packaging manufacturing supporting FMCG clients contract packaging and distributing goods to LIDL, Aldi, Asda, Tesco and Morrisons. We are looking for an experienced Production Planner to join their extremely busy Production Team - SAP and FMCG/Packaging Manufacturing experiences are essential for you to be successful in this role.
Your Main Job Purpose
As our new Production Planner you will hold a pivotal role within the Supply Chain function. Your primary responsibility is to generate daily and weekly production plans across two contract packaging lines, considering capacity and aligning with the overall business needs.
You will have excellent communication skills, work cross functionally with all departments, coordinating with the goods in teams to ensure required components are arriving in a timely manner while working closely with demand management stakeholders to ensure service level targets are met and exceeded.
As our newly appointed Production Planner, you will mostly be able to manage competing priorities while maximising throughput, minimising waste, and reducing costs such as demurrage and detention.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Total control of short-term production plan.
* Ensure Service Level targets are targets are met and exceeded
* Maximize line utilisation in line with organisational OEE targets
* Producing efficient plans which account for finished good stock holding targets.
* Minimise demurrage and detention through effective planning.
* Liaise and resolve issues with internal Departments; raw materials, packaging, and customer requirements via pragmatic solutions against time sensitive requirements.
* Maintain, update and review master data that feeds into all aspects of the planning function.
* Attend and lead regular meetings with key internal stakeholders to ensure the efficient communication of the plan across the business.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
The job requires good people and process management, good communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
Planning experience is essential, and a logical and methodical approach to problem solving will be needed.
A high level of competency in Excel is required and ideally the candidate will have previous knowledge of SAP, specifically SAP APO.
Understanding of LEAN manufacturing processes.
Experience in an FMCG environment is also an advantage.
