Head of IT
Remote role with travel to Crewe once a week
£60k - £70k with uncapped performance related bonus paid upon project completion
The Head of IT is responsible for assuring the end-to-end integration of technology solutions working across a multi-supplier delivery and operation model.
Leading the drive to bring all outsourced IT inhouse, the Head of IT will hold a critical role within the team, which requires a driven, ambitious and enthusiastic IT professional to help develop, drive and deliver the IT strategy for the business to achieve its considerable change and growth ambition.

Head of IT key responsibilities:
* Ensure the IT solutions delivered meet business needs
* Lead and deliver the IT Portfolio of programmes and projects
* Manage the technology delivery and integration of 3rd party delivery partners and outsourced IT service providers to ensure the successful delivery of IT Change initiatives
* Provide leadership and management of the IT Delivery team
* Be the internal consultant and subject matter expert on all IT Delivery matters, ensuring that technology change in the business, taking best advantage of industry good practice and emerging trends
Essential experience:
* Significant knowledge and experience of enterprise IT, preferably with experience of financial services in a regulated and compliant environment
* Significant experience in Operational and ICT management roles in an outsourced business environment.
* Knowledge and expertise of shaping programmes and digital projects across all SDLC phases, utilising a variety of delivery frameworks (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, CI/CD), automation methodologies and tools
* Experience delivering complex technology programmes in an outsourced environment, liaising with multiple business units, conflicting priorities and projects (both internal and external service providers and suppliers) at the same time.
* Ability to lead complex technical solutions and explain it to a non-technical audience so that the impact on the business is easily understood
* Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate resilience to ensure the correct solution is selected with a full understanding of the costs, timescales and risk involved
* Excellent communication, influencing skills and ability to communicate complex technologies and processes in a clear and coherent way
* Proven track record of leading in-house and external high performing teams
* Ability to motivate and lead teams in changing business environments
* Degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or related subjects or equivalent by experience
* Strong understanding of software, app development, hardware and integration delivery frameworks
* Practical knowledge and experience of current and emerging trends e.g., agile project management practices, open source, cloud platforms, automation, and leading digital technology services
* In-depth knowledge of system design patterns, performance, resilience and scalability
