If so, Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) have an excellent opportunity for you to join our Merlin and Wildcat Project teams at Leonardo Helicopters, Yeovil.
As Senior Project Controls Manager, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating PC elements for complex and high-risk projects/programmes in the submarine portfolio. You will act as focal point, ensuring delivery teams meet their estimating, risk management, cost control, planning and scheduling, performance reporting and management baselines, whilst providing strategic direction, PC functional input and subject matter expertise (SME) to partners and the wider nuclear enterprise.
You will integrate with accomplished, multi-disciplinary teams, gaining full exposure to the organisation and operating at the core of what we do. You will collaborate to solve challenges unique to our industry and, by linking with fellow minds and allies across the world, will provide a significant contribution to the success of our projects.
At DE&S, continuous professional development is actively encouraged. You will have access to a defined development pathway, including professional chartership (ChPP), funded APM qualifications and ongoing support to prosper.
We operate a hybrid working environment, and the expectation is that you will attend site approximately two days per week. Initially, you may be expected to attend more frequently to familiarise yourself with the site, team, and projects you will be working on in more detail. When attending site, your primary place of work will be Leonardo Helicopters, Yeovil, Somerset BA20 2YB.
Responsibilities for Senior Project Controls Manager
* To act as the focal point and to integrate all project controls activities on the Project, Portfolios or domains
* To assure the quality and accuracy of all project controls data and artefacts produced by the project controls teams utilised by the project, Portfolios or Domains
* Analyse performance of projects against the PMB, and communicate it to the project teams to ensure effective delivery
* Manage resource planning in line with the project schedule, ensuring resource demand is underpinned by robust BOE (driven by schedule activities)
* Manage project scope and change through robust assumptions management and change control mitigation to ensure that only documented authorised changes are made at the right level. To communicate complex project controls data to key member of the projects, programme and DE&S leadership in a simple and understandable way.
Person Specification
To be successful with your application, youll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria:
* Typically, must have experience in at least one of cost control, scheduling or risk management sub functions. Must also have experience of Project Support role, or a previous PCM assignment.
In addition to the responsibilities above, the following technical competencies and behaviours will be assessed at interview:
