POSITION: Building Surveyor
LOCATION: Commutable from Taunton, Bristol, Bath, Gillingham, Dorchester, Yeovil, Exmouth, Exeter, Barnstaple and Weston-super-Mare
PACKAGE DETAILS: £34,229, Company Vehicle, 13.0% employer pension contribution, 37.5 Hour Working Week, 25-30 Days Holiday plus Bank Holidays, Hybrid Working
THE ROLE: Our Public Sector client require an experienced Building Surveyor to oversee a large building portfolio covering the South West region. You will report to the Head of Estates and be responsible for the delivery of a safe estate and the day-to-day property maintenance and minor works for the geographic area. The role offers a clear vision for progression and security, being supported through industry qualifications and accreditation. The successful Building Surveyor will be responsible for providing a 2nd Party assurance role with a focus on the six main pillars of compliance (Gas, Fire, Electric, Legionella, Asbestos and Fuel)
DUTIES:
- Manage reactive and planned works on site, engaging stakeholders where applicable
- Check works on completion and ensure all necessary certification to support the work has been received
- Provide quality assurance and deliver contract and budget management of the works
- Undertake supervision of all Building, Mechanical, Electrical and Maintenance works
- Engage Consultants, Contractors and SMEs with current procurement process to assist with design and project management of planned and injected works
- Ensure appropriate and compliant specifications are written for works and deliver work in line with BSP8 or other appropriate industry standards
- Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety and all current legislation during works on site
- Update and maintain property database and inspection reports
- Undertake and update annual asset condition surveys, range inspections and other inspection regimes meet rolling programme
- Input forward maintenance plans and manage any pre-planned maintenance programme
EXPERIENCES:
- To be qualified to HNC/HND within a Construction/Building/Property related subject
- Experience of working within an Building Surveyor role previously
- Health and Safety Qualification (NEBOSH) is desirable
- Confidently communicated at all levels
