Quantity Surveyor Refurbishment, Extension and New Build

Our client a leading extension, refurbishment, and new build development company dedicated to delivering exceptional projects across [location/country]. As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a talented Quantity Surveyor to join our team and contribute to our ongoing success.

Position Overview: As a Quantity Surveyor you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success and smooth operation of our projects. You will be responsible for accurately estimating and managing project costs, assessing and valuing subcontractor work, and providing valuable insights to support decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including extensions, refurbishments, and new builds.

* Conduct thorough cost analysis and risk assessments to identify potential areas for cost savings and mitigate financial risks.

* Procure materials and subcontractor services in accordance with project requirements and budget constraints.

* Evaluate and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to achieve favorable terms and conditions.

* Monitor project expenditure and cash flow to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints and financial targets.

* Prepare interim valuations and final accounts, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and payment processing.

* Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve cost-related issues and optimize project performance.

* Keep abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continuously improve processes and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.

* Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry, preferably with a focus on extension, refurbishment, and new build projects.

* Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost management techniques.

* Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

* Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.

* Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.

* Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and precision.

* Professional accreditation (e.g., MRICS) is desirable but not essential.
