As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and dedicated HGV Mechanic to join our team and contribute to our mission of maintaining a fleet of safe and efficient waste vehicles.
Job Description:
As an HGV Mechanic you will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and functionality of our waste vehicle fleet. You will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of a variety of heavy goods vehicles used in waste management operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for mechanics and a desire to contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics to identify vehicle issues.
Perform maintenance and repair tasks, including engine, transmission, suspension, and brake system repairs.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical and hydraulic systems.
Conduct preventative maintenance to extend the lifespan of vehicles.
Collaborate with colleagues and follow safety protocols at all times.
Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed.
Assist with equipment and parts procurement as needed.
Participate in training and stay updated on industry best practices and technology.
Requirements:

Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic or similar role, preferably in waste vehicle maintenance.
A valid HGV mechanic qualification or relevant certification.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
Willingness to work flexible hours when necessary.
