Insignis Talent are working with a leading, multi-national company who are seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will support the development of software and integration activities for solutions, products and systems within the maritime domain. You will also independently manage control system development activities within a wider multidisciplinary team.
To be successful in this role, skills/experience/knowledge in the following areas would be beneficial:
Experience in developing solutions to meet challenging requirements
Experience with automation or robotic systems
Educated to degree or equivalent level in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent working experience
Understanding of open system architectures and principles
Understanding of engineering lifecycle processes and tools
Ability to solve complex problems and to critically review results and methods to ensure quality
Ability to expand knowledge into new domain areas and work across domains
Ideally experience in one or more of the following domain areas:
Understanding of military systems, in particular maritime systems
Maritime systems, integration of equipment and software
Discrete time control systems
Off-board unmanned systems
Data network design and configuration
Hardware and/or Software in the Loop V&V strategies
Real time operating systems and hardware
Desirable primary software/system skills:
LabView
Matlab/Simulink
Requirements management (DOORS experience desirable)
UML / Enterprise Architect for system design
Exposure to AI/ML techniques and methodologies
C/C++ for embedded systems
Exposure to IEC 61508 or equivalent
Other desirable software skills/experience
Python
Rockwell PLC programming (Studio 5000)
Atlassian Toolset
Communication protocols (CANBus, Ethernet/IP, RS485)
Database design
ISO 9001 and TickITplus standards
