Catering Assistants

Location: South Stack, Anglesey
Salary: £10.90 - £11.70 Per Hour

We are looking for Catering Assistants to join our busy catering operation at South Stack Nature Reserve to support the team through the upcoming busy season. There are 3 zero hour contracts available. We need all applicants to be flexible and available to work up to 32.5 hours a week during busy times.

The Visitor Centre has a beautiful café with panoramic views across the Irish Sea. We are looking for individuals who can deliver the highest standards in customer care and assist with the day-to-day running of the café operation, in line with set RSPB procedures and routines.

Whats the role about?
You will be based at RSPB South Stack Cliffs Visitor Centre in Holyhead, Anglesey. You must have your own transport as its a little off the beaten track and there is no public transport.

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and flexible people to work in our café and ice cream outlet, making sure visitors enjoy our locally-sourced, delicious food and drink. You will need to be able to deliver the highest standards of customer care.

Previous experience of working in catering would be very useful, but if you have a willingness to learn, work hard and roll up your sleeves to help nature we want to hear from you. Basic hygiene training will be provided.

A typical shift will involve taking customer orders, clearing tables, keeping the café clean and tidy, serving customers and operating the tills. You will be responsible for maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors and always delivering the highest standards of customer service.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

* Enthusiastic approach to work

* High understanding of the principals of food hygiene

* Excellent verbal communication skills

* Problem-solving skills and ability to work on own initiative

* Ability to manage and respond to customer needs and feedback

* Working in target driven/pressured environment

* Working on the till & card machine

* Ability to work as part of a team

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

* Experience of working at a café/bar/pub

* Till operation and payment handling

* Knowledge of food and food service skills

* Computer skills

Additional Information:

* You will need to be available to work between 10am and 5pm. This can be an extremely busy period.

* We have various shifts available, and the role involves working most weekends and bank holidays.

* We are offering Fixed-Term contracts to begin as soon as possible, ending on 29th September 2024.

* The RSPB reserves the right to extend or make these roles permanent without further advertising dependent on business needs at the end of the contract term.
