Role: Manufacturing Engineer

Rate: £44.05 P/HOUR
Location: Fareham
Position Summary
Demonstrable experience and knowledge of a combination of Manufacturing Technologies and Assembly processes, Engineering Sciences and Manufacturing management. Ability to lead Manufacturing Engineering projects and supervise team members as required. Possess knowledge in various manufacturing processes including but not limited to: Machining, Joining processes, Heat Treatment, Metrology, Jigs and Fixtures and Assembly processes. Also have knowledge of Metallurgy / Material science and be conversant with design for manufacture principles. Required to carry out a variety of Production / Manufacturing engineering assignments and tasks to deliver engineering information and/or solutions to an agreed schedule. Work closely with all associated functions to ensure final deliverables meet project, customer and business requirements.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Comply with Health, Safety and Environmental policies ensuring this is at the forefront of all engineered solutions
Have strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
Possess project management and team leadership skills and ability to supervise ME teams and subcontract staff where required
Introduce new systems, processes, methods and facilities to ensure the cost-effective integration of new products
Ability to engineer and introduce new products to manufacture and investigate production and process issues providing technical support and training
Conceptually design fixtures and tooling where required for both assembly and detail manufacture
Generate documentation such as routings and process instructions using standard work methods whilst adhering to all relevant quality and design specifications
Justify and manage the installation of new plant and equipment
Identify applications/projects for SPC and manage their implementation including ongoing data analysis
Improve manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning work flow, space requirements and equipment layout
Lead continuous improvement, problem solving and process improvement activities. Analyse and plan workflow, space requirements and equipment layout where appropriate
Lead Industrialisation projects to customer requirements performing activities such as DFMEA, PFMEA and tools such as VSM. Also support internal and customer PPAP requirements
Keep abreast of current manufacturing technologies and future technology developments
Support / give guidance to our overseas manufacturing sites in Vietnam (MVN) & China (MXM)
Minimum Qualifications
Education Level
HNC in a Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering discipline - Required
Bachelor's Degree in a Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering discipline - Desired
Field of Study/Area of Experience
5+ years of experience and knowledge of a combination of manufacturing technologies, engineering sciences and manufacturing management.
