Fire Alarm Engineer

Location: Hertfordshire / London / Essex

Salary: Up to £42,000 + Overtime Hours of Work: Full-time (Monday-Friday)

I am currently seeking a Fire Alarm Engineer on behalf of our client. The successful candidate for this role will install fire alarm detection systems. This will include panel replacements, system additions and new installations.

The Fire Alarm Engineer will be responsible for:

* Installation and commissioning of fire alarm systems

* Working and cohering to safe working practices and reporting any possible risks

* Interpreting client requirements and design criteria

* Completing a first and second fix to wiring systems

* Testing and inspecting systems, making sure all the components are working properly, complying with safety regulations and carrying out cause and effect checks

* Carrying out reviews of certifications and installation manuals

* Submission of documentation and installation certificates complying to BS 5839 (Recommendations for the planning, design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire detection and fire alarm systems for non domestic premises) The ideal Fire Alarm Engineer candidate will have:

* The ability to work independently to install alarm systems in properties

* Willingness to travel and stay away from home occasionally

* Experience in fire alarm installations and other equipment associated to these systems, 2 wire, addressable and conventional

* Up to date knowledge with the most recent BS5839 standards part 1

* Experience with Kentec, Morley, Ziton and Aico part 6

* A FIA qualification/ ECS card (desirable but not essential)

* A full and clean driving licence

* Knowledge of health and safety in the workplace

* A good level of IT literacy
