Skanska Building Services division seek a Commercial Gas Engineer to work on a large , unique MoD site in North Middlesex, where we provide hard and soft FM services on a long term PFI contract.
Working as Commercial Gas Engineer - you will ensure compliance with the Gas Safety regulations for the site wide commercial gas fired installations and associated heating and hot water installations, building services plant and equipment, as delegated by the Engineering Manager in support of the maintenance of the site
You will :
* Perform PPM, statutory compliance tasks and reactive works investigations/repairs on, but not limited to, the commercial gas fired systems on site
* Service, test, diagnose and repair process control systems and automatic control devices related to the building services gas fired plant and equipment
* Carry out tasks associated with L8 compliance for the prevention and control of legionella risks
* Liaise / assist with other services as necessary for the efficient delivery of work activities, workmanship and productivity to comply with the performance standards
* Use provided test and monitoring equipment for the purpose of maintaining engineering system operational performance and to aid fault diagnostics and repair, interrogate and adjust systems to maintain correct operation of plant and equipment
* Carry out repairs, modifications and installations of plumbing, heating systems and hot/cold water services in copper, plastic, mdpe, black iron and galvanised pipe using soldering, braising, welding, pressfit and compression methods of fitting
* Carry out Skilled Person duties as required for the engineering services on site in compliance with JSP375 Volume 3
Skills & Experience required:
* Gas Safe registered for commercial gas installations
* Hold some of the the following: COCN1, CIGA1, CORT1, TPCP1/1A, CPA1, CCCN1, COMCAT1, MET4
* Maintenance and set up of gas fired burners
* Maintenance of gas pressure regulator installations (PRIs)
* Working knowledge of other building services and trades
* Must be able to fully satisfy the Client security clearance minimum requirements (SC)
