Project Engineer
We are currently seeking a Project Engineer to assume a pivotal role in managing projects with a primary emphasis on Front End Engineering Design (FEED). This role will encompass the entire project development spectrum, from conceptualisation to operational handover. As a Project Engineer, the candidate is expected to bring substantial technical expertise to oversee the complete range of EPC project phases. Successful Project Engineer will possess a proven track record of working on projects of various sizes and will excel in collaborating with diverse disciplines. Experience process projects would be a notable advantage.
Our Client is a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation that specialises in the design, construction, and operation of state-of-the-art facilities within the organics recycling, green energy, and sludge processing sectors. Their projects extend not only across the UK but also encompass international ventures. With a robust pipeline of design, build, and operate projects, this company is seeking a Project Engineer to enhance its core team.
Major Responsibilities of a Project Engineer:
* Oversight of the assigned scope/area, including management of schedule, cost, quality, and risk.
* Efficiently managing this phase using tools such as drawing registers, issue logs, risk registers, change management, and organising critical reviews.
* Close collaboration with discipline design engineers, sub-vendors, contractors, and potentially clients.
* Ensuring timely procurement, information supply, and coordination of inspections and testing in accordance with project requirements.
* Taking the lead in some packages/equipment procurement, including the creation of specifications, data sheets, and scope of work documents.
* Coordinating with equipment suppliers and specifying engineers to address design, manufacturing, shipment, installation, and commissioning challenges.
* Serving as the focal point for the development of the construction scope of work to facilitate effective contracting.
* Providing on-site work and contract management support to the Site Manager and Project Manager.
* Collaborating with the project team to compile all project documentation and produce a comprehensive handover file, including O&M manuals, H&S files, and technical documentation, as applicable.
* Ensuring adherence to this company's ISO Business Management System, CDM regulations, and relevant authorities' approvals (CE or UKCA marking, pressure systems), as well as complying with environmental and planning constraints.
Experience & Qualifications
* Proven experience in an engineering company within a relevant business context.
* Demonstrated track record of working in EPC projects within a multi-discipline team environment.
* Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical engineering preferred).
* Membership in a recognised professional institute is preferred.
* Proficiency in a wide range of engineering skills, including familiarity with common engineering practices such as hand calculations, mathematical simulations, and Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools.
* Experience in engaging with external parties, authorities, vendors, and clients.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office programmes, including Excel, Word, Visio, and Project
* Proven ability to manage costs and a demonstrable commercial awareness.
