We have a fixed term Courier role available within Hertfordshire Constabulary. The role of the Courier is to support Hertfordshire Constabulary Fleet Courier Service (HCFCS) and provide a comprehensive porter service to Headquarters departments to achieve Force's vision, purpose and values.

Role: Courier

Pay: £11.75 per hour

Location: Hertfordshire Constabulary HQ, Stanborough Rd, Welwyn Garden City AL8 6XF, UK

Job Type: 14 month contract with a possibility of going Permanent

Shift Pattern: Full Time, 37 hours per week, Anytime between 6am/9am start depending on the varied routes

Start date: Dependent upon the passing of Police vetting checks (1-2months)

Responsibilities:

Transport supplies, equipment, court documents, and mail safely and in compliance with Constabulary Policy
Maintain an efficient and secure system for moving supplies and other goods between Headquarters Departments
Offer stations and courts on-demand delivery and pickup services
Gather and distribute DNA data from SOCO and custody units
Offer confidential garbage pickup service with safe storage to guarantee proper disposal
Maintain specified areas at a high level of cleanliness and hygiene across the headquarters site, including washing HCFCS vehicles
Deliver fundamental administrative and clerical assistance, complete standard paperwork, and adhere to departmental standardsExperience needed:

A Full UK Driving License with Category D (position requires driving of vans)
Ability to read a map and use/follow a Sat Nav
Ability to conduct manual handling (some items in particular may be heavy or bulky)
Basic IT knowledge
A good level of Customer Service experience
