Job Title: Teaching Assistant - 1:1

About the school and Teaching Assistant role:

A Primary School based in Newport is searching for a Teaching Assistant to join their nurturing, inclusive learning community.

The school is situated in the East region of Newport, and therefore easily accessible to anyone in this area. They cater for children aged 3-11, embracing the diverse cultures that make their community special.

We are looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support a student on a 1:1 basis. The student is in a year 5 mainstream class, who needs a teaching assistant to keep them engaged in class. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the new curriculum and empowering the child to reach their full potential.

Teaching Assistant Job Description:

Provide one-to-one support with a Year 5 student
Utilising effective behavioural management techniques to assist in promoting an optimal learning environment within the classroom
Undertake additional duties, such as break and lunch duties, as and when is required What do you need?

Prior experience working with children with SEND is highly desirable
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
