Role: Functional Safety Engineer

I am looking for a Functional Safety Engineer for a client who is an innovative automotive engineering business at the forefront of technological advancement in the sports car and hypercar manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will be joining a small, dynamic, and growing team to support the growth and in-house capability of Functional Safety.
My client builds world-class high-performance cars and are looking for a Functional Safety Engineer who will be expected to turn their hand to many different aspects of functional safety, across all systems of the vehicle.
As a Functional Safety Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our automotive systems and components. You will be responsible for developing and implementing safety concepts, conducting risk assessments, and guiding the integration of safety measures throughout the product development lifecycle.
Role and Responsibilities:
Core FuSa Delivery
Developing ISO 26262 work products at the OEM-level - Item Definition, HARA, FHA, Functional & Technical Safety concepts and requirements
Developing ISO 26262 supporting documentation, safety plans, safety cases and safety analyses (e.g. FTA)
Supporting with the FuSa strategy and research projects that look forward to ensuring Lotus maintain a state-of-the-art Functional Safety capability
Performing gap analyses for existing systems for integration to new platforms and developing/changing safety requirements
Developing safety validation strategies (Plans and Specifications)
Supporting/Performing safety goal validation testing
Performing Verification review activities
Knowledge and Skills:
Breadth of knowledge across multiple vehicle items, such as EV powertrain, ESP and batteries would be beneficial, alternatively the ability to quickly learn and understand vehicle systems.
Experience in developing Functional Safety work products from an OEMs perspective & developing ISO 26262 Part 4, 5 and 6 work products & supporting processes.
Experience in SW/Embedded Systems development in Automotive OEM or a Tier 1 supplier.
Breadth of knowledge across multiple vehicle items, such as EV powertrain, ESP and batteries would be beneficial, alternatively the ability to quickly learn and understand vehicle systems.
Experience in developing Functional Safety work products from an OEMs perspective & developing ISO 26262.
Experience in SW/Embedded Systems development in Automotive OEM or a Tier 1 supplier.
Experience with developing FuSa analyses for ADAS and L2/2+ autonomy systems.
