We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Peer Review Editor to join the Journals Editorial office team. The role involves providing expert and guidance to all stakeholders on best practice and publication ethics. In addition, you will use your expertise to configure journal sites and workflows to best meet production needs and ensure KPI's are met. This can be a fully remote UK role with one day per month at their Leeds office
Duties of the role include:
* Support a team of external vendors across a portfolio of allocated titles
* Act as point of escalation for complex queries working directly with journal editors to resolve tasks
* Support editorial teams with title development
* Using data, identify underperformance and poor editorial practice, and work alongside wider teams to devise and implement journal development actions
* Assist with the set up of new submission sites, special issues, and implement changes to workflow and custom submission questions
* Collaborate with colleagues in publishing and research integrity to resolve author disputes and ensure best working practises
* Configure submission systems to support a streamlined publishing process
* Manage and implement strategic changes journals portfolio in partnership with wider publishing team
* Provide training to new system users and promote best working practices
* Support colleagues with Copyflow monitoring when required
Skills required:
* Relevant publishing or industry experience
* Working knowledge of submission systems, ideally ScholarOne submissions systems
* Ability to work and create strong working relationships with colleagues and clients
