Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Salary: £39,000 £43,000 per annum (negotiated on experience)
Hours: 08:00 17:30 Monday - Friday
Location: Chesterfield
* A chartered consultancy in Chesterfield are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or a Quantity Surveyor to join their team. They operate on both the consultancy and contractor side, our client offers Quantity Surveying support services to the some of the UKs leading construction companies. They build long term relationships with clients and are successful and growing. They are a family run business who are headed up by a personable and dedicated MD who understands the importance of work/ life balance. In line with this they are offering flexible working for those who would like to - you can do 3 days in the office and 2 days from home This is a great place to get exposure to a range of sectors - areas they work in include:
* Civil Government
* Ministry Of Defence, Ministry Of Justice - anything from runways to modular buildings to gymnasiums to domestic / commercial barrack refurbishments
* They also work on office refurbishments, prison works, civil/ utilities
* This successful company operates across 3 offices in the UK.
* The Chesterfield office employs 25 - 30 Quantity Surveyors, meaning you will have great support and expertise around you Why are they a great place to work?

Assistant Quantity Surveyor
- Be able to work in a team of Quantity Surveyors alongside Project Manager
* Undertake and manage a range of pre and post contract quantity surveying duties such as:
1. Cost Planning & Estimating
2. BOQ Production
3. Feasibility Studies
4. Tender and contract documentation production
5. Pre and Post Contract management
6. Contract management and assist in any claims that arise.
7. Management of contractors on site ensuring works are undergone efficiently.
8. Sub-Contract Payments
9. Client Valuations
10. Monthly Reporting
11. Final Account Agreements
Desired Skills and Experience
- Experience as an Entry Level or Assistant Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor or consultancy
- Excellent communication skills & good presentation and client skills
- Good IT skills particularly Excel
- Knowledge of Construction Contracts JCT/NEC etc
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
* Degree qualified
* Willingness to undergo APC or be on route / chartered already
