Position: Domestic Abuse Worker - BAME Specialist
Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week)
Contract: Temporary contract until 31st March 2024
Salary: £25,668 - £27,239

We are working closely with a womens charity based in Nottinghamshire to recruit for a Domestic Abuse Worker - BAME Specialist.
The role will work pro-actively with women from the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Communities who have experienced domestic violence and abuse offering risk assessed, strength based and needs led support to help women, children and teenagers live life free from domestic abuse, improve their safety and reduce re-victimisation.
Responsibilities:
* You will work with women, offering risk assessed, strength based, and needs led support. You will work alongside each woman, throughout her journey, agreeing individual safety support plans as well as advocating on her behalf to achieve safety and autonomy.
* Provide high quality case work support to survivors of domestic violence. You will carry a varied case load, working with each woman throughout her journey, managing and prioritising cases effectively.
* Support the empowerment of service users, and assist them in recognising the dynamics of domestic violence and abuse
Essential Requirements:
* Experience of working within the domestic abuse, violence against women and girls sector or similar field
* Experience of risk assessment and management, safety planning and support planning.
* Experience of advocacy and support work with vulnerable people.
* Full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle which is insured for business use and available for use within your role, is essential.
The charity would be particularly interested in hearing from you if you have an IDVA or DAPA qualification or the willingness and ability to attend this training and successfully achieve the qualification.
Role is subject to enhanced DBS check.
