Position Summary
Our client is expanding their existing team of Locomotive Engineers at a Depot in the Midlands, and are looking to engage a number of Locomotive Fitters
The successful candidates will be responsible for supporting the Safety and Maintenance of the Companies busy Fleet of Class 66 and 60 Locomotives in line with company Standards and Procedures
Person Profile/Experience:
A skilled mechanic and ideally time served, you will have previous experience of undertaking maintenance, service and repair work on Diesel Locomotives with a preference to experience of Class 66 although other Diesel Loco experience will be readily considered. You'll have the ability to make sound engineering decisions and will have good communication skills, written and oral.
Adhere to health and safety and local safety policy requirements, and other safety and technical standards. Comply with all instructions, rules and regulations in force
Maintain, service, fault find and repair Locomotives in accordance with the approved maintenance plans as required by the local manager
Ensure all relevant paperwork for examinations and repairs is correctly completed on time and to required company standards
Indicate and evidence your capabilities in undertaking works to diagnose, fault find. Repair and maintain Mechanical driven mobile units be they HGV, PSV, Agricultural, Military, Trains, Planes or Automobiles
You will be physically fit and healthy, you will be required to undertake a NWR related medical and drugs & alcohol test which must be passed before any offer can be made, have a good sense of humour and be prepared to work outdoors where required. You will ideally have a full (clean) driving license and be flexible enough to travel to other local sites in the region from time to time
Due to the nature of the work/role, an appreciation of H&S at work is essential, plus in line with Rail Industry Protocols there is a zero policy re being under the influence of Drugs or Alcohol
Qualifications:
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a Technical skill set
Technical hands on experience essential
