Design Manager - Canterbury

SSA are currently working with a leading M&E Contractor located near Canterbury seeking a Design Manager to join their Design team on various Residential, Commercial and Healthcare projects.

Candidate will need to have good all-round knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical systems with a depth of knowledge in the MEP design management process.

Key responsibilities:

Review tender documentation, identify risks within the design and raise throughout the tender process.
Review design fee proposals from external consultants
Set design deliverables for each consultant and CDP contractor and schedule drawings, specifications and other design information required for construction.
Assist with the design programme in conjunction with CMs, consultants and CDP contractors.
Prepare and agree the IRS with design team and CDP contractors at the outset of the project.
Attend/chair design team meetings as necessary on site and via teams
Monitor and report on design progress, subcontractor design, environmental/CDM issues.
Develop and agree design input/output responsibilities between parties
Monitor progress and status of RFI's and document control.
Lead regular meetings to vet and comment on design information.
Review and comment upon design information provided by consultants and subcontractors. The ideal Candidate:
HNC/HND/Degree qualified in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
BIM/Autocad experience and use of Navisworks
Proven track record of leading design on whole Mechanical/Electrical services projects.
Experience in Education, Residential, Commercial and Healthcare Sectors
A full UK driving license & access to own vehicle
A minimum of 5 years Senior UK design experience in MEP design management Salary negotiable dependent on experience starting from £60k+ package including car allowance. Hybrid working
