Amnis are working with a large and thriving mainstream secondary school in the Wigan area. We are looking for an experienced administrator who can start working in the busy school attendance office as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to progress or kick-start their career within secondary education.
This full time job is on a long-term temporary basis, with potential to lead on to a permanent contract. You will be working as part of a small and friendly team in a busy but supportive environment. The attendance job requires someone with self-motivation and the confidence to jump straight in and pick up the job quickly and easily. Previous admin experience is required. School experience is highly desirable but not essential. Experience of either SIMS or Bromcom will be beneficial.
Job Responsibilities
* Generate daily absence reports following the compulsory AM and PM registers.
* Check for missing students in classrooms or elsewhere in school, make phone calls home.
* Provide support and advice for teachers with any system problems that arise.
* Update systems with any sickness, holiday, or other attendance information.
* Keep safe any documentation/records relating to this information.
* Monitor absence and flag up any concerns or long-term absences to Heads of Year.
* Be prepared to generate individual student attendance reports or provide information relating to individual students when required.
* Issue weekly attendance reports to be distributed across the school each week.
* Liaise with Form Tutors over pupil absences or punctuality to resolve any issues.
Job Details
* Full time, 37.5 hours per week.
* Monday Friday, 8am 4pm.
* Term-time only.
* Immediate start.
* Long term temporary job until July 2024, possibly longer.
