W Talent Manufacturing are supporting a leading manufacturing company based in Barnsley who are now looking to recruit a highly talented, Shift Production Manager to drive manufacturing and OTIF improvements across the South Yorkshire site. My client is dedicated to delivering high-quality products and services to its customers and gone through an exceptional growth period over the past 4 years.

My client is now looking to recruit a highly motivated, Shift Production Manager to implement and drive manufacturing improvements across the production facility. As the new Shift Manager, you will report directly to the Manufacturing Manager with full ownership and responsibility foy your own shift. If you are enthusiastic, focussed and ambitious with the desire to develop in a thriving business then this could be the role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

* You will be accountable for shift performance including KPI deliverables covering safety, quality, productivity, and cost.

* Responsible for taking key production decisions in the absence of the manufacturing manager.

* Deliver clear communication between the team and all areas of the business to give a clear and consistent flow of information.

* Monitor, actively mentor and support new and existing team members and help to identify training and development needs working closely with our CI and engineering team.

* Driving Operational Equipment Efficiencies, focusing on continuous improvement & effective maintenance.

* Support the shift production team in completing production tasks and deliver shift handover process including all shift reporting documentation.

* Responsible for ensuring all necessary operational quality and safety checks for products manufactured on shift across all technologies are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

* Work with the Quality team to manage any quality incidents including reporting, containment, root cause analysis and corrective actions.

* Monitor the completion and return of all relevant documentation on shift including handover sheets, Non-conformance Reports, quality inspection documents, advice notes, stock reports and any other documentation.

* Ensure compliance across all working areas to the companys hygiene policy, EHS requirements, housekeeping and other documented procedures and standards.

* Monitor and manage absence and lateness levels, disciplinary matters, holiday allocation and sickness cover.

Key Requirements:

To apply for the Shift Production Manager position based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire you will ideally have 5+ years managerial or supervisory experience with the ability and desire to work shifts Monday to Friday, other requirements include;

* Strong leadership skills and focussed on training & development of production employees.

* Technical Competence and understanding of Production Machinery would be an advantage.

* Ability to work in a manufacturing industry and the pressures associated with high volume manufacturing.

* Forward thinking and pro-active approach

* Positive and professional attitude with the ability to motivate a team.

* Knowledge of risk assessment procedures.

* Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, word, PowerPoint).

* Excellent planning and organisational skills.

* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) at all levels.

Whats on Offer:

This position will be working 4 days per week on 2 shifts with NO weekends. There will be strong progression opportunities and the starting salary for this role will be between £35,000 and £45,000
