The Role:
New & unique role within the company: you will form part of the installation and maintenance team and work with the design team to continuously improve new and existing machines. Brilliant opportunity to use your technical expertise to contribute to the development of their technology, while also delivering essential on-going maintenance, installation, servicing and breakdown response.
Role Responsibilities: Loads of training available we want engineering experience and attitude
* Form part of a team responsible for automated storage machine installations to ensure that the machines are installed and commissioned correctly.
* Cary out upgrades to existing machines, continually assess performance and feed back to and work with the Technical Design Engineer to further improve.
* Complete customer site surveys to ensure preparedness for the solution set-up, i.e., flooring, electrical supply, and temporary space requirements.
* Ensure the customer fully understands the delivered solution, troubleshoot, if required and provide training where appropriate.
* Be involved in post-implementation reviews with customers to gauge satisfaction and gather learning points for improvements on future builds.
* Where solution delivery is international and physical presence cannot be achieved, provide a remote support solution by video, telephone, email, or text.
* Service machines to ensure smooth operation and the decreased likelihood of breakdowns.
* Attend breakdowns to provide safe and thorough repairs to machines, ensuring the machines are back to an operational state with as little downtime incurred as is practicably possible.
* Training machine end users so that they can operate them safely and avoid any mistakes being made that could lead to breakdowns. This also ensures that they can utilise the machines to their maximum abilities to increase productivity and reduce waiting times for product picking.
* Training of Remote Support personnel to give them an in-depth understanding of the machines.
The Person:
* Engineering qualification Time-Served is fine (or formal quals)
* Strong hands-on Mechanical engineer with an agile mind and solutions focus
* Installation, maintenance and fault-finding experience
* Understanding of hardware, software, sensors & controls
* Keen interest in design and development of moving parts and machinery
* Excellent customer service skills
* Self-motivated, flexible and enthusiastic approach to work
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent planning, organisation and problem-solving skills
