We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to work on a permanent basis for a well-established Company based in St Helens

The Package:

The basic salary for the Electrical Design Engineer role is between £45,000-£60,000 per annum

You'll also receive other benefits which include the following:

Hybrid - Initially expected to be in in the office full time for the first few weeks until up to speed then 4 to 3 days in office / 1 to 2 days from home.

The standard hours for the Electrical Design Engineer role are 8am-5pm Monday-Thursday and 8am-1pm Friday.

The candidate may be required to occasionally visit sites and possibly our factories in Spain.

The Role:

In the Electrical Design Engineer role, you will be tasked with:

Creation of diagrams and schematics required by the project (single line diagrams, Keyline diagrams, AC & DC, wiring, ).
Work in collaboration with production engineering to create the list of materials and component specifications.
Give technical support to the rest of the team (Commercials, production,)
Give technical advice and assistance within the organization on electrical matters.
Be involved and lead the project during the manufacturing, FAT, installation and commissioning activities.

The Candidate:

To be the right person for Electrical Design Engineer role you must possess a formal engineering qualification.

It's important that you also have the following:

Knowledge of AUTOCAD. Knowledge of EPLAN would be of interest also.
Project management
Knowledge of the UK standards and presentation of electrical schematics within the MV/HV industry.
Protection and control systems design experience according to DNO standards in the UK.
Good knowledge of protection relays would be an advantage and experience creating settings and PSL files would be viewed favourably.
As part of our substation design, a knowledge of LV electrical installations and 18th edition wiring regulations would be useful but not essential.
Awareness of relevant ENA standards would be advantageous.
A flexible approach. We sometimes have to assist with and cover colleagues' duties. We work as a team to achieve our company goals.
