Job Title: Mechanical Contracts Manager
Location: Newbury, Berkshire
Salary: £60-70K + company vehicle or allowance

*Company will consider more "senior" level candidates*

The Role:

- Responsible for all Mechanical aspects of projects.
- Responsible for ensuring that quotations are issued and contracts are completed accurately and to customer expectations, in adherence with company procedures.
- Responsible for effective relationship management with clients & working partners to achieve smooth operational and commercial progression of projects.
- Liaising with Customers, Suppliers, & Subcontractors.
- Making sure health, safety & welfare is maintained and adhered to, and liaising with the QSHE Manager.
- Managing projects from contract signature stage, through all phases until handover to the end user inc. snagging.
- Overseeing all elements of the overall commissioning process to ensure that the installations are correctly commissioned.
- Ensuring all commercial and contractual requirements are correctly fulfilled.
- Attending site meetings and conducting site surveys, as and when required.
- Overseeing the preparation of operation & maintenance manuals.
- Providing technical support and expertise to the internal project team.
- Ensuring the efficient/effective running and co-ordination of multiple contracts.
- Processing enquiries and orders, from first receipt through to satisfactory completion, keeping customers informed throughout, to ensure company, customer and budget expectations are met.
- Maintaining and updating, in real time all SAP records including corresponding documents, job history, CRM (where appropriate), purchase orders records etc.
- Setting up new enquires and jobs onto SAP.
- Updating SAP with detailed scope and all relevant documents, sketches, notes, drawings, site photos etc. as soon as reasonably practicable following survey.
- Procuring materials, consumables, equipment and PPE in appropriate timeframe.
- Preparing RAMS.
- Developing the programme for the contracts.
- Monitoring costs for every contract.
- Managing changes and variations in contracts.
- Identifying financial and works risks, and providing solutions.
- Monitoring and managing company personnel and contractors throughout the execution of the contract.
- Providing guidance and technical advice to colleagues and contractors.
- Upholding and adhering to company procedures and reputation through own example and appearance.
- Liaising with sales to provide general intelligence, customer news, case study information etc.
- Liaising with Accounts in respect of general queries, credit card purchases, vehicle matters, timesheets etc. to promptly clear all outstanding matters.
- Liaising with other Departments to provide general intelligence, co-ordination of works etc. as required.
- Responsible for handover to clients and after care.
- Reporting to the Lead Mechanical Manager.

The Company:

- Offices based in Newbury, Berkshire.
- 30 years experience delivering Mechanical projects in the South of England.
- 10 employees and all labour is subcontract.
- Turnover in the region of £4m per year.
- Take on Mechanical projects up to the value of £700K.

The Ideal Candidate:

- Will have 5+ years experience working as a Mechanical Contracts Manager.
- Will hold a valid CSCS card - ideally a black managers card.
- Will work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Will have excellent communication skills.
- Will be located within an hours drive from Newbury and be willing to travel into London a couple of times per week to attend projects.
