Pay: £10.42 per hr, after 12 weeks £12.59 per hr, 37 hours per week, Mon-Fri 6am-2pm
Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme (ST5 2SL)

Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of Newcastle Under Lyme Borough Council for Collection Operative to temporarily join their busy team within waste & fleet and recycling services.
Main purpose of the job is to collect waste and recycling from households, businesses and schools. To safely transit, empty and return waste / recycling containers to collection points.
You must maintain a good service to the public at all times and this would include keeping noise to minimum, avoiding damage to property and injury to persons, closing gates when leaving, avoiding or picking up any pillage on premises or in the road.
The right candidate would be physically fit as the role is demanding (pulling, pushing, lifting and carrying of heavy loads) and be able to work in adverse weather. Ideally you will have previous experience of collecting recycling and waste materials, working on a public highway or HGV/heavy plant. You must have safety footwear (EN ISO 20345 S1p minimum with a slip rating of SRA or SRB if possible) Full driving license is preferable.
You might be required to undertake additional hours and work on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays in order to ensure service provision is maintained (there will be uplift in the hourly rate)
