The Sun another lovely pub, great for Sunday Lunch, about 15 minutes walk.
The Hope - a fine place for a dink and a chat 5 times CAMRA Greater London Pub of the Year.

East Croydon is about 10 mintes in an Uber. East Croydon is the fast train to London Victoria or London Bridge - 15 minute on the fast train. Also direct line to Gatwick and Brighton. Also, if you have a late night night in town your easiest route home maybe to get the fast train to East Croydon and grab a black cab or Uber to the house which takes about 10 minutes.
